Mark’s #17 & 18 – The Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness (The Wingfeather Saga) by Andrew Peterson

On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness (The Wingfeather Saga)

One of my favorite pastimes is reading books to my daughters before bedtime.  As they’ve grown older, we are able to read longer books with deeper plots and scarier adventures.  The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson is the latest series to catch our attention.  Peterson is mostly known as a Christian musician, but surprisingly he also has the ability to write children’s fiction with some great characters, a sense of humor, and a suspenseful storyline.

The series would fall into a category similar to The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia.  The mystery of the Igiby family, their past and their future slowly unfolds to reveal some extraordinary things that will require extraordinary courage and help from the Maker.  Because I want you and your kids to enjoy this series like we have, I won’t reveal any more.

If you’re looking for  a book to read kids ages 8-14, or if your looking for some summer reads for your children, check out this series.Screen Shot 2015-06-13 at 10.01.37 AM
