JRF’s #7: The Dark Tower by Stephen King

Apparently some think this is Stephen King’s magnum opus and should be up there with The Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia as one of the best fantasy series.  It’s not and it shouldn’t.

It was mildly interesting.  Sometimes.  But mostly it was boring and unnecessarily profane.  There was an interesting conversation about the bigness of the universe that I think I might try to work into a sermon illustration sometime.

If someone gave me the next book in the series for free and I had nothing to do for a few days, I’d probably read it.  But if that situation never presents itself I’m perfectly content not ever finding out what happens to whatever that guys name was that the book was about.
