JRF’s #2: Origin by Dan Brown

Dan Brown at his worst.  Basically the movie Eagle Eye with a bit of modern Spanish art sprinkled in.  I usually enjoy the faux-history/conspiracy theory nonsense of Dan Brown, but this was just a waste of time.  Instead of guilty pleasure all I got was guilt.  The most heartbreaking thing about the book was seeing all of the community highlights on the kindle versions of some of his atheistic religion bashing platitudes as if they were some eloquent and faith-shattering challenge to religion, when in reality I’ve heard more thought-provoking and hard to answer cosmological questions from junior-highers.   Early in the book, it teased the answers to the questions, “where did we come from?” and “where are we going”.  The answers provided were not only lacking, but dumb.
